The sequel to 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife sees the Spengler family returning to the New York City firehouse where ghoul-hunters Peter (Bill Murray), Ray (Dan Aykroyd), Winston (Ernie Hudson) and Egon (Harold Ramis) first got into the supernatural business.
It’s been 40 years since the first movie which was a huge hit and became a cult classic. And while the spooky franchise has been revisited over the years, so far none of the films have reached the highs of the original.
The suspenseful ending of ‘Death in Paradise’
“Death in Paradise’s Neville Parker (Ralf Little) has both feet out the door and on to a plane in the penultimate episode of the season.
It turns out that Florence (Joséphine Jobert) is not enough to keep him on the island, as Saint Marie’s longest-running detective still persisted with his plans to go travelling despite her shock return.
Fans of the show had hoped that Neville’s feelings for Florence would drive him to reconsider his decision to leave the island in search of a new love.
There were certainly moments when it seemed the tide was turning that way.
Though they only communicated via video calls, the two effortlessly picked up their natural, easygoing bond when they began remotely solving the case of the week together.
They practically fell into step with one another, proving they “always were a good team” – Florence’s words, not ours, though we agree.
They even shared a touching exchange over text that was thickly layered with subtext.
During their brief but heavy chat, Neville expressed how much Florence had been missed and she returned his sentiment, saying, “Good to see you too. X.” A lot could be read into that simple X.
Yet banners were still hung, goodbye drinks were had and Neville most certainly got on that plane after a heartbreaking telephone goodbye to Florence.
For all intents and purposes, Ralf Little’s Neville Parker has left Death in Paradise. Yet we are struggling to truly believe this is the end.”
